It is an interesting source of protein with 30% PB and rich in Proline, a key amino acid in collagen synthesis and in the healing and quality of skin (for example, in poultry farming). It is a source of antioxidants and an important part of functional fibre rich in sulphated polysaccharides (absent in terrestrial plants) such as alginates, carrageenans and fucans with proven immune activity as antibacterial, antiviral, anti-inflammatory…etc. Important source of vitamins, especially of the B group.
